Motion FX has being established in year 2000, primarily targeted to the broadcasting, production and post production industry.
At 2001 we were the pioneers along with a German company showing in International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam the first direct to disk recording system designed for digital cinematography.
In year 2003 we have added new services as well as new product offerings in our product line. The rental department acquires a Panasonic Varicam that was the first HD camera in Greece by that time. Followed by many projects during Athens Olympics one major was our participation in the production of the 2004 Special Olympics BBC opening themes.
In 2005 the 4K film recording and the 2K color grading investment was the first new service that we added. By that time we used the Silicon Color Final Touch 2K, that later became the well known Apple Color. In the same time we have developed our multi-camera iso.ingest direct to disk studio solution that sold to clients abroad. Our involvement to the Eurovision song contest was key since all finishing color grading of the country id’s had passed through our 2K 4:4:4 to HD processing mastered in HDCAM-SR.
In 2007 we started to offer for clients around the world our innovative service for film recording. The idea was to transfer color management know how to partners abroad in order them to be able to do high end 2k color grading with unsurpassed WYSIWYG for film-out with the new breed of tools from Apple.
In 2008 we got the European Patent for our innovative studio automation system iso.ingest. The same time we started to develop a relay lens system for 2/3 cameras that was allowing connecting low cost DoF to high end 2/3 camcorders.
In 2009 we sold the first systems of the rev2 of the relay to clients around the world. Additionally we issue our first licensing contract for our studio automation technology to an Austrian company.
At the end of 2009 we started the development of our innovative portable disk array that was capable to withstand the outdoors production environment of the modern digital cinematography era. The FiberPack was a reality, with transfer rate reaching 390Mbytes/sec is a true 4K performer.
In 2010 we have already set up a network of 8 partners around the world, in Israel, Egypt, Belgium, Netherlands, New York etc., they were color grading their movies, in house, using our color management know how, thousands kilometers away from us and we were able to deliver to them our film recording service with an astonishing color accuracy of just one printer light. Until today we have finished in this way more than 20 movies.
In 2010 we also roll out our Rev3 of our relay system, with yet another breakthrough… the GG.relay Rev3 is the only modular relay lens in the world capable to be converted on the field from the user to cover Full Frame 35 frame sizes as well as Super 35.
The only relay lens in the world verified being capable to deliver more than 1400 lines of resolution…that’s almost 4K…
There are more things to introduce and deliver to our clients, as slowly we are entering our second decade of successful and innovative entrepreneurship.
The digital era of cinematography is coming, everything is changing fast, we as pioneers in the field; we are ready to deliver innovative products and services that enhancing the art of cinema and bridging the old and tested with the new and promising. |
