Q. What is the size of the GG.relay?
A. In the Super 35 frame size setup for SGblade is 5cm long and at Full Frame 35 is 9cm long.
Q. Is the GG.relay suitable for all 2/3 B4 mount Cameras HD and SD?
A. Yes, actually it is designed for 2K work so it will easily cover SD camcorders.
Q. The relay will be suitable also for ½ - 1/3 B4 mount Cameras?
A. Yes, it’s scheduled to be available soon a ½ B4 mount conversion kit.
Q. What is the image area that is covered on the ground glass?
A. The relay is modular and can be converted very easily in just two minutes to the most common frame sizes Super 35 that cover 24mm x 13.5mm as well as Full Frame 35 that covers 36mm x 24mm.
|
Q. Will it fit to any 35 adapter except from SGblade i.e. Letus LEX or the Red Rock micro?
A. Yes, the relay is modular and a conversion kit will be available soon for other adapters like Red Rock micro. LEX it’s not scheduled for the time being.
Q. Does the relay limit the adaptor resolution?
A. No, the relay has far more resolution than the adapters.
Q. Is there any sample footage?
Q. And what is the optical performance of the relay?
A. The relay is designed for maximum transmittance, very good performance in chromatic aberrations and maximum resolution. In the tests that we did, the system relay/Sgblade/Zeiss surpass the best Cinestyle Canon lens in terms of resolution. The test charts are available on the res chart page.
Q. How fast is the relay?
A. The best performance is at F4, a very good performance when you have low light conditions you can get with F2.8 ½. When wide open at F2.8 is better not to have bright spots because some chromatic aberrations are visible as well as few sharpness issues at the corners.
Q. When compared to other relays how it performs in terms of light efficiency?
A. The system GG.relay/SGblade compared to an Ultimate/compact it’s on the same level when on the equation we judge also the sharpness of the image with Ultimate/Pro relay the Letus is faster ½ stop to one full stop depending on the frond lens matching to the system. The GG.relay/SGblade compared with Pro 35 is slower by one stop also.
Q. Is there a magnification factor?
A. No. The magnification factor is 1:1 so no DoF loss or FoV loss a 50mm lens behaves as a 50mm lens.
Q. What is the conversion kit?
A. The relay is modular that means you have one lens block with many configurations. Conversion kits are available in order the owner of S35 relay for 2/3 camera to be able with just the cost of few parts to convert his relay to work with Full Frame 35 lenses without the need to buy a new relay. Additionally it will be able to use his relay with ½ cameras and the appropriate conversion kit.
Q. When the deliveries are starting for the GG.relay?
A. The relay is available for order. From order to delivery the time is about four weeks. Bear in mind that there is limited supply of the lenses needed due to the high quality of the lenses used so there will be a difficulty to deliver that high quality in high volume.
Q. How I can order?
A. Use the on line ordering form
