FAQ for the GG.relay Rev2.
Q. Will this work with my HPX500 and my LEX?
A. Yes, the new Rev2. will.
Q. Is the GG.relay suitable for all 2/3 B4 mount Cameras HD and SD?
A. Yes, actually it is designed for 2K work so it will easily cover SD camcorders.
Q. What is the size of the GG.relay?
A. Its 21cm long from the surface of the camera front to the flange point of the Brevis35 PL mount that’s 4 cm shorter than our reference lens a Canon Cine style Zoom 11x4.5KLL SC mk3. The relay mass is 700g. The new Rev2. is modular so i can deliver it for flipped adaptors as well as non flipped. In case of flipped the size is 70mm from B4 flange to flip module.
Q. What is the image area that is covered on the ground glass?
A. With the new design it is switchable for Super 35 24mm x 13.5mm as well as 36mm x 24mm.
Q. Will it fit to any 35 adapter i.e. Letus35 or the new SGblade except from Brevis35?
A. Yes, the relay has a filter thread of 72mm so it fits with all adaptors. The new design has adjustable focusing and can fit to all adapters, especially in the 36mm x 24mm size.
Q. Does the relay limit the adaptor resolution?
A. No, the relay has far more resolution than the adapters.

Q. Does the relay work with flipped adaptors?
A. Yes, the Rev2 is designed to work also with flipped adaptors, so no problem with HPX500.
Q. And what is the optical performance of the relay?
A. The relay is designed for maximum transmittance, very good performance in chromatic aberrations and maximum resolution.
Q. Is there a magnification factor?
A. The magnification factor is 1:1 so no DoF loss or FoV loss a 50mm lens behaves as a 50mm lens.
Q. What is the price of the GG.relay rev2 ?
A. The new price is 1.495 euros.
Q. When the deliveries are starting for the Rev2.?
A. The relay is available for order. From order to delivery the time is about four weeks. Bear in mind that there is limited supply of the lenses needed due to the high quality of the lenses used so there will be a difficulty to deliver that high quality in high volume.

Q. What about the current owners of Rev1. can they upgrade to Rev2 ?
A. Yes, with the cost of 500 euro's.
Q. I read in the DVXuser forum that you have develop a new Fiber screen that substitutes the GG from Brevis35?
A. Yes, its on the final stages of R&D, there are same Fiber screen prototypes for sale in the price of 150 euro's + shipping each. Beware they are just five parts... so if you want one to play with just send an email to motionfx@motionfx.gr with your full name, telephone and address and we will send you a proforma invoice for the wire transfer.
Q. Fiber screens, when they will be commercially available?
A. I suppose in Q1 09, the target price is 350 euro's, and the size of the screen is 39,1mm x 25.7mm and they fit to Brevis35.
Q. Are you planning to build a compact 2/3 to 35mm adapter with integrated ground glass?
A. No for the time being, since all these guys that selling them will eventually increase the quality of their adapters... But then what drive us to build the relay was the lack of such a solution for our rental house... so never say never. We are so many good engineers in Greece who knows...
